Coarse Screen
 Operation of the SMC multi racked bar screen is automatic. Equally spaced bars form the screening area, and solids accumulate at the screen base until a water height level sensor activates the Rake Mechanism.  The Rake Mechanism is designed to fit between the bar spacing, and transport the screening to the top of the SMC where a rake plate ensures the screenings drop down the discharge chute. The rakes are fixed and chain driven, with the number of rakes growing with the screen height. A gearmotor actuates the Rake mechanism transmission.
